Horns
AFI is the leading supplier of horns to the boating
industry with over 50 years of experience building horns designed
specifically for marine use. They offer a
complete line of marine horn
products designed to meet almost any need, including electric and air
trumpet horns, compact horns, electric and air below deck horns and a
comprehensive line of drop-in horns with a wide assortment of grill
options.
Being made for boats, AFI horns use stainless steel for all critical components such as trumpets, motor covers, diaphragms and assembly and mounting hardware. Further, their horns are set to a lower frequency to provide greater range across water.
AFI electric horns meet the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Regulation #A-23 for boats up to 12 meters. Their air horns meet U.S. Coast Guard's C.O.L.R.E.G.S. and U.S. Inland Navigation Rules, Annex II Regulations for boats up to 20 meters.
AFI horns are listed in the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Certification Program “type accepted” list, with all listed for boats up to 12 meters and all air horns listed for boats up to 20 meters.
AFI Drop-In Hidden Horns
AFI has been building below deck horns since 1988 - when they invented the entire category! Responding to an OEM desire to "get the horn off the deck of the boat", AFI became the industry's leading innovator in signaling devices and remains so today.
AFI offers
many models of hidden horns and an even wider selection of
grills - enough to complement any boat design. The two most popular
models are the 11079, "H" Horn, and the new 11080, "H" Horn Phase 2, the
loudest drop-in horn available from any supplier. The 11080 blows an
astounding 111 dB at one meter! It is also the industry's easiest
drop-in to install being only 1 inch in depth and requiring no cut-out
templates -- only a standard hole-saw.
Hidden horn grills are built with water resistant fabric liners to guarantee the longevity of the horn. They are available in both snap-on and screw-on versions in multiple colors. Stainless steel grills are also available.
FullBlast Air Horns
AFI's FullBlast compressor driven air horns look
and sound beautiful. Nothing says "big boat" more clearly to your
customers than an AFI FullBlast - the loudest, broadest line of air
horns available today. How loud? All produce sound levels ranging
between 120 dB and 127 dB with either 12 volt or 24 volt CE listed
compressors. All AFI air horns meet ABYC and NMMA regulations for boats
up to 20 meters (44 feet).
These horns are built with a non-corrosive LEXAN diaphragm and include compressor, air tubing, fittings and hardware. They draw 20 amps with the 12 volt compressor and 10 amps in the 24 volt version.
Not only are AFI air horns available in both single and dual trumpet versions, OEMs can also choose between a standard size trumpet or a shorter unit that fits very well on mid-sized cruisers or on any boat where space is at a premium. In either size, the trumpet is, of course, solid brass. AFI also offers any of these horns with a white epoxy coating that works great with "go fast" styled models.
In addition to these traditional designs, AFI also offers the industry's only concealed air horn, the ultimate combination of "big boat" volume and sleek design.
Electric Trumpet Horns
AFI is also the industry leader in single and dual trumpet electric horns. With these unit's 100% stainless steel exterior and 304 stainless diaphragm, these units are offered with an unsurpassed five-year warranty.
Whether choosing the single trumpet or the dual, OEMs will receive the loudest electric trumpet horn available today with dB(A) ratings of 118 and 123 respectively.
